I can remember my dad and mom taking me to Johnstown when I was a kid. then Glosser Brothers was still open, as well as the Act II restaurant. My mom grew up in Johnstown, lived in Johnstown and graduated from Johnstown High in 1946. My dad worked in the mills in Johnstown and had a brother killed in the mills in Johnstown. I may not have grown up in Johnstown, but my roots go back to Johnstown. My grandparents are buried in Richland and Grandview and my great grandparents and great-great-grandparents are buried in Sandyvale and even some of my great-great-great- grandparents are buried there. I pray everyday Johnstown comes back to life, everything thing in Johnstown needs to be declared an hsitorical sight on the National Register. Keep moving on Johnstown, if I had the address to the congressman and senators from that area I would wirte them and encourage them not to let Johnstown die on the vine.

Hi there! Thanks for capturing the beauty of the city where my mom was born! Though I never lived in PA, I call Johnstown home because it's where my heart feels an indescribable peace. I hope to find a live link to be able to purchase some prints from your site someday soon!!!!!

I served as pastor at St. John Church from 1988 to 1997, and I just love to see this wonderful pictures, especially of the interior. The last 3 pictures are a bit heartbreaking, but I am pleased that the altar and some of the other interior pieces are in a chapel at Zion Lutheran in Johnstown.
