Johnstown Movie Theatres

Wow, I didn’t realize there were so many. Thanks for the info. Being stuck in altoona, I really appreciate being able to escape to Johnstown now and again.
I remember most on the list well. Growing up in the Eighth Ward in the fifties, I spent a lot of time at some of them. Especially the Roxie, Lyric, Ideal, Dale and, of course, the “big” ones — the Cambria, Embassy and State downtown. Admission to the Roxie, as I recall was 18 cents for kids and 25 for adults. Most of them are long gone, though I noticed the building for the Dale on Bedford Street was still standing the last time I drove through Johnstown. The list evokes pleasant nostalgia for a simpler time.
WHAT NO DOG RUN ?
Born and raised in Johnstown, now living in Toledo. I have an interest in theater organs and play two here (one in Toledo, one in Detroit). Does anyone know what organs were n the old State Theater or the Embassy? Those are the two I remember, going to, but sort of remember a theater on Central Avenue near the old Block’s store.
Thanks!
Bob
